What is Istrakon?
Istrakon is a yearly science-fiction and fantasy convention which takes place on the last weekend of March at the Memorial Home in Pazin, for the eleventh time this year.
The main goal of Istrakon as a manifestation is the promotion of science-fiction and fantasy in this area, incarnated in a three-day gathering of SF&F fans and others who find something of interest at the convention. Although the path from year 2000 to now has been a difficult and thorny one, Istrakon is still light years away from what we want it to be. Without hard work there are no results, therefor we strive to make one step beyond with every new Istrakon, aiming for the impossible, for dreams or perfection, just as SF should.
At Istrakon, you can expect 48 hours of quality program, packed with lectures, movies, entertainment, games, sports tournaments, pleasant socializing and, of course, a surprise or two.
Program details are soon to be published on the web site and you are encouraged to participate in the forums with your suggestions and questions.
This year, Istrakon is taking place from March 26 to 28, in the building of the Memorial Home in Pazin, as always.
