The 3.5 D&D is dead. Long live Pathfinder!
It’s old news for the pen&paper enthusiasts that the latest version of the most popular p&p RPG system has been cancelled. Licence owners have decided to turn a new page, instead of building on the already well used system. So what about that old game so many of us fell in love with?
To our great joy, D&D 3.5 edition has been renewed through Pathfinder Roleplayning Game – a game system that builds on the tradition but also introduces some improvements over the older version.
Join us for a short introduction to Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and Pathfinder Setting after which we invite you to join us in a one-time adventure session, in which you’ll have a chance to try out the „new“ system yourself.
For the gaming part of the lecture, you can apply at the Info-desk because we are space limited to two tables with 10 players in total. Previous experience with RPG games is not required.

Davor Horvatić : “Black holes, the blackest so far!” and “What is time?”
Dr. sc. Davor Horvatić is a research fellow at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of Zagreb, Faculty of Science.
Currently he is a postdoc at the “Fachbereich Theoretische Physik Institut für PhysikKarl-Franzens-Universität” Graz, Austria. The main area of his research is quantum chromodynamics (the theory of the strong nuclear
force) at finite temperature and density of matter. His research also covers physics of critical phenomena, which has great importance in modern economics, physiology and seismology. In his free time he presents interesting scientific theories and concepts in popular lectures, often in the faculty of a regular guest-lecturer at the Festival of Science, Istrakon, Sferakon, Rikon and Fotosofia (organised by D. Hoyka).
At this year’s Istrakon, dr. sc. Davor Horvatić will present two lectures. The first is entitled “Black holes, the blackest so far “and the second:” What is time? “.
For the first lecture, Dr. sc. Horvatić says, ”In addition to their physical properties, black holes have a psychological one: whenever they’re mentioned, people get very interested in discussing them. Until recently, they were much disputed objects, but now their reality is confirmed and we are trying to create microscopic black holes. Newspaper front pages scare us with them, saying that they will swallow the Earth … but that is not correct. In the lecture we will discuss all black hole properties, and investigate whether they could be windows into other universes. Primarily, this lecture will try to show what black holes are in reality, how they occur and what we can learn about the laws of physics in our universe by studying them. ”
The lecturer describes his other lecture by saying, “We must be honest and say that neither science nor philosophy
still do not actually understand what time is. What is the arrow of time, why is time such a special dimension, can we build time machines, how is time connected to our physiology, can we “quantitize” time, is there time after time and what is time, really? These are the questions which this lecture will try to answer. ”
